Three ex professional footballers have set up a new business, aiming to bring elite level football coaching to North East of England and further beyond.

Sunderland AFC legend and now Football Agent Gordon Armstrong, his brother Chris, former Reading and Sheffield United defender and son James, former Hull City and Sunderland AFC Academy player, have launched a new and exciting venture named Armstrong Football Coaching, with the aim of providing high standard coaching to footballs grassroots in the North East.

Armstrong Football Coaching offers both 1-1 Coaching Sessions and Team Coaching Sessions, and focusses all their sessions on three main components including functional practices, ball mastery and movement development.

‘We are extremely excited to launch our new venture. We’ve had some great coaching sessions already, from school children to even some professional players. We are very excited to work with many new players in hope of improving their overall game.’ said James Armstrong.

Armstrong Football Coaching can also assist those individuals who are hoping to make the step up to being a pro in the game. Gordon Armstrong, who has over 20 years experience as a licensed football agent, has access to numerous contacts at professional clubs and is more than willing to help progress those players who he thinks fit the bill from an ability and attitude standpoint.

The trio has also spent some time recently working with Sunderland AFC midfielder, Lynden Gooch, throughout lockdown to help ensure that the SAFC fan favourite stayed both fit and sharp in preparation for the start of Black Cat’s new League 1 campaign in September.

‘I loved working with Armstrong Football Coaching. The sessions were very professional and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. They have really helped me maintain my fitness and technical skills during this difficult time in our lives’ said Gooch on his recent experiences with the Armstrong family members.
